Request to join the mailing list

The email list is how everything reaches you: meeting times and locations, the weekly recruiting update, and access to the member library. Sam and Yash review each request and will follow up from the club's email.

In the meantime, follow the club on LinkedIn to see placements and announcements.

The join form

The form takes about a minute: your name, Amherst email, class year, and which areas of finance you are curious about. Submissions go straight to Sam and Yash.

The form runs on Google Forms and asks you to sign in with your Google account; use your Amherst email, since that is also what the member library gets shared with. Your name and email are used only to run the club's mailing list and share resources. See the privacy policy. Questions about the form can go to ygupta27@amherst.edu.

Common questions

Before you ask

Who can join?

Anyone at Amherst. The White Group is open to all with no application, freshmen start with intro meetings in the fall and the accelerated curriculum in the spring, and the intensive Purple Group admits sophomores through a resume screen and two interview rounds. Transfer students are especially welcome; the founders were transfers themselves. The program page explains the tracks.

Do I need a finance background?

No. The White Group assumes zero background and covers finance fundamentals in low-pressure 45-minute sessions with no quizzes. The club was started by two students who had to catch up on the process themselves.

When and where are meetings?

Weekly during the semester: Purple Group sessions run an hour and fifteen minutes, White Group sessions run 45 minutes. Times and locations go out on the email list, which is exactly why the join form above is the first step.

What do members actually get?

Weekly sessions, weekly email updates that keep you on the recruiting timeline, the member resource library (cover letter and resume guides, structured syllabi, email templates, the 400 Question Wall Street Prep, and technical study guides), mock interviews and one-on-ones with the leadership team, and for Purple Group members, the mentorship program and the Trek. The resources page has the full rundown.

What is the Trek?

A December visit to Wall Street: twelve sophomores selected from the Purple Group spend December 1 through 5 visiting 12 to 15 firms, including JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, and Citi. Selection interviews happen in late September and early October.

What careers does the club prepare you for?

The curriculum covers investment banking, sales and trading, private wealth, asset management, and private equity. Recent placements include Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Guggenheim, Lazard, and Wells Fargo.
